U.S. SEN. HOEVEN HONORS MISS AMERICA 2018 CARA MUND ON SENATE FLOOR
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (September 14, 2017) – Senator John Hoeven honored Miss America 2018 Cara Mund Tuesday on the floor of the U.S. Senate. Hoeven congratulated Mund, who made history last Sunday, becoming the first Miss North Dakota to win the crown. Mund served as an intern in Senator Hoeven’s office from August through December 2016.
“Cara is truly impressive, and we’re proud to have her representing North Dakota and now our entire nation.
“Following graduation from Brown University with a degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations, Cara served as an intern in my Washington, DC office. She did a tremendous job helping us serve the people of North Dakota.
“While only 23, she has a long history of public and community service. For the past 10 years, she has organized an annual Make-A-Wish Fashion Show, which has raised over $78,500 to help make dreams come true for more than 20 kids facing life-altering conditions.
“It’s only fitting that after spending so much of her life making others dreams come true, that Cara’s own dream was made a reality last night.
“She is well-deserving of the title. Cara does a wonderful job representing North Dakota and we have no doubt she will continue to make our state proud during her reign as Miss America.”
A graduate of Brown University, Cara’s long-term goal is to become North Dakota’s first female Governor.
