Today is dedicated to my lovely Ana ?? In 2014, I was volunteering in a shelter and noticed this little room in the back. Out of curiosity, I took a peak and found the “holding room.” This is where all the dogs go to be sent to be euthanized. This absolutely broke my heart and I was determined to give these dogs at least a final walk outside in the sun. As I made my way around the room, I noticed this little black skinny blob in the back corner who had her eyes locked on me. I asked an associate about her and she said, “oh don’t bother with her, she won’t go near anyone.” I had this odd feeling. I went and opened the crate and although she couldn’t walk very well, she dragged herself to me and sat between my legs. I cried. The associate cried.
