Bullying doesn’t stop at the playground. I have been wearing a mask for my immune deficiency for 3 years now. I had a lady refuse to sit next to me on a plane, and have had many strange looks or people staring at me. I have been questioned many times, which I welcome as an opportunity to educate. I have learned to be an advocate for myself and others. However, not everyone has learned to use their voice or has built up their confidence. A little over 6 months ago I joined efforts with one of our local Sheriff Dept officers to collect plastic lids which will be turned into an anti bullying bench at one of our elementary schools.
