Press Release just received….

Stephi Barton Williams, national director of the Miss United States Pageants, along with Rená Lantrip, national director of the Mrs. United States Pageant, announced internally to the directors and staff on Saturday, January 16, 2017 the appointment of Ashley Martinez as the new Director of Marketing for all divisions of United States National Pageants, Inc. effective immediately.

Martinez is no stranger to pageantry or the Miss United States System. Martinez reigned as Miss Colorado United States 2005 during her undergraduate days living in Denver, Colorado and later reigned as Ms. Louisiana United States 2014 where she was an integral part of rebuilding the system in her home state of Louisiana where she currently resides. Martinez was named the In-State Coordinator for the Miss Louisiana United States Pageant in late 2015 and was responsible for management in state of the titleholders, contestants, and sponsor relations. In that role, Martinez was pivotal in arranging national service projects, partnerships, and state sponsorships to benefit all parties and especially the people of Louisiana following the disastrous floods of 2016. Most recently, Martinez was named the Co-Director for the 2017 Miss Louisiana United States Pageant.

Martinez brings over 10 years of marketing and business acumen to our system. She has worked and excelled in multiple industries and now heads up her own business consulting and literary agency out of Southeast Louisiana with clients that include major literary publications, USA Today Bestselling authors, and international speakers. Martinez also sits on the Board of Directors for Louisiana DECA, the official state organization for DECA, Inc. (one of the largest Career and Technical Education organizations in the world) and volunteers her time serving as the State Association Advisor for the collegiate division.

Following in the steps of her predecessor Shana Teel Purkey, Martinez will now be the official contact for all events and aspects related to the marketing of the United States National Pageants. This includes the handling of all national titleholder appearance and interview requests and acting as the official liaison for national sponsors and prospective sponsors. Martinez will also be developing and implanting an overall corporate marketing strategy and working with the national team of staff members to translate the business objectives into an effective marketing package that will assist in the continued growth of the system and its partnerships.

Stephi Barton-Williams stated, “We are so blessed to have worked with Shana since taking over as the national directors for the United States National Pageants and we are eternally grateful for all she has done for our system. We are excited to have Ashley on board as our new Director of Marketing. We know she will be able to pick up where Shana left off and will work to further strengthen our organization.”
