The Mrs. Oklahoma Pageant has long had one of the classier looking state pageant websites. It obviously mirrors the design of the national pageant, which generally to me would mean that it was never updated. But they actually do. They also run a blog and keep things fresh while bringing you the latest information.

A few weeks ago, I shared this great photo by my friend Dan Buikema. Dan, as you remember, is the photographer at the International Pageants and he got this shot while I was interviewing Jayna Altman, Miss International 2008.

Today, I’m traveling to the Illinois International Pageants. I found the itinerary for you from the website:
The 2010 Illinois International Pageant will take place over Labor Day weekend. The itinerary for the weekend is as follows:
Saturday, September 5, 2009
12:00 PM Orientation activities at hotel (closed to the public)
1:30 PM Personal Interviews with the judges (closed to the public)
Sunday, September 6, 2009
9:00 AM Rehearsals all day (closed to the public)
7:00 PM Pageant (ticket information will be available when finalized)
9:30 PM Celebration Party (Location to be announced)
The Illinois titleholders this past year were great and were great to get to know. We wish the best to all the contestants in this year’s pageant!

As you know, I’m good friends with Miss International Director of the Year Joy Pfister. When she first confided in me (yes, I had to keep that a secret) that she was going to unify the North and South Carolina Pageants, I was excited for her new adventure. She will be holding the first Carolina International Pageants (both North and South Carolina) in Greensboro, North Carolina in late February and she is bringing back myself as the emcee! I couldn’t be more excited.
